Conformation
A handling class to train owners and their dogs in preparation for dog shows. This class is geared towards purebred dogs. Assistance for Junior Handling is also available.
Conformation classes are at 3:00-4:00 pm on Saturdays as follows:
3:00-3:30 Small Breeds
3:30-4:00 pm Large Breeds
Agility
Agility is lots of fun for both the dogs and their owners. The dogs love it. It involves going over various obstacles, through tunnels and over jumps.
Contact Dori Lynn at dormar@alaska.net or 283-7515 for more information (times, etc.)
Rally
Rally is a sport in which the dog and handler complete a course that has been designed by the rally judge. The judge tells the handler to begin, and the dog and handler proceed at their own pace through a course of designated stations (10 - 20, depending on the level). Each of these stations has a sign providing instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. Scoring is not as rigorous as traditional obedience.
Canine Good Citizen
CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
Dogs do NOT have to be purebred to take the CGC test. Our next CGC Class starts July 16th at 6:00 pm
